Blog #8 Learning Style

1. My strongest Learning Style was Auditory.

2. My 2nd strongest Learning Style was Visual.

3. My last Learning Style was Kinesthetic.

4. Suggestions for Kinesthetic Learners:
    1. Be sure to attend all classes, recitations, and extra sessions offered for each of your course.
    2. Use different colors to highlight main ideas. Keep a highlighter with you at all times while studying.
    3. Before reading an assignment, look at all the pictures and headings in that section. Then read the end-of-chapter questions and summary. Get a "feel" for the whole chapter by reading the end sections first. and then work your way back to the beginning. This is what is called working whole-to-part.
4. If you don't study well at a desk, use a couch or soft chair, and change positions frequently. Try studying with soft background music.
5. To more easily recall your index cards, pace or walk around reciting their comments, Try doing this while walking from class to class, as well.

Suggestions for Visual Learners:
1. Be sure to attend all classes, recitations, and extra sessions offered for each of your courses.
2. Select a seat furthest from the door and windows and close to the front of the classroom.
3. Look at the professor while he or she is talking. It will help you to stay focused.
4. Use color to highlight main ideas. Keep a highlighter or pen with multiple inks with you at all times while studying.
5. Take good lecture notes, including sketches of all pictures and diagrams. Leave lost of white space to fill in extra details later.

Suggestions for Auditory Learners
1. Lecture situations are excellent leaning environments. Be sure to attend  all classes, recitations, and extra sessions for each of your courses.
2. Try studying with one or more studious acquaintances. Talk through the information with each other.
3. Before reading an assignment, look at all the pictures and headings in that section. Then talk out loud and say what you think the chapter will be about. Also state any questions you hope to have answered.
4. Use color and graphic symbols in your notes to highlight main ideas.
5. Use graph paper or lined paper to do complicated math problems. Leave plenty of space to organize each problem.

1. My top intelligences were Logical-Mathematical and Interpersonal, they both tied at 24.

2. My worst intelligence was Musical. I have never played an instrument before, and no one should ever hear me sing.

3. I agree with the lowest intelligence being musical but i was a little surprised about having the mathematical one as my highest. I wasn't really surprised about also being interpersonal.

4.Three possible careers that would go with Interpersonal:
    1. Psychologist    2.Counselor
    3. School Principle

5. It would be a good idea to match up a career with your specific intelligence because whatever your biggest strengths are that's where you should be spending all your time. If your working at a job and your not really qualified or skilled in that area your not really doing anyone any favors by working there.

6. The general average salary is approximately $43,000 per year for a school principle. The average school counselor makes $47,500 per year.  Depending on experience in the field - typical salary can range anywhere from $153,000 to $190,000.
